Tenured Professor Walter Kehowski at Maricopa Community College in Arizona on November 22, 2006, the day before Thanksgiving, sent an e-mail message containing George Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1789. A personal call to president Green asking what was in the Proclamation that was offensive was stone-walled. The offices of Arizona Senators McCain and Kyl were apprised of this un-American outrage which will be investigated.Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1789 “Now, therefore, I do recommend and assign Thursday, the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the people of these states to the service of that great and glorious Being who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will be.
